the wee small hours of the morning
Five a.m. I wake to hear Addi crying from her crib. I grunt and groan as I grudgingly roll out of my nice warm bed and my feet hit the icy cold floor. I gather all the necessary supplies...boppy pillow, burp clothes, blankee, water bottle, phone (you wouldn't believe how much stuff I move around throughout the day just to feed her). I think to myself "If only she would have slept just a little bit longer..." but then I see her cryin' away, and all I can do is smile. As I nurse her in her dimly lit nursery, I look at that sweet face and thank God for all he has given me. It is an amazing feeling to know that I am meeting the needs of my little baby. She is so precious. I am so lucky.

That's right...we are parents!
I have not posted anything on this blog in over a year! I actually kindof forgot that this blog exists. Funny that the last post shows Cooper as a puppy. He is over a year old now, and is HUGE by the way! But our new news...we have been blessed with a beautiful baby girl. Addilyn Isabel Chabre was born on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 9:23 a.m. She was 7 pounds, 4 ounces and measured 19 and one quarter inches long. Since then she has grown and grown and grown. She literally looks different even to me almost daily! She is five weeks old today, and Kevin and I are deeply in love with our precious little girl. Could she be any more perfect? The answer is clearly no. The picture above was taken in the car on the way home from the hospital. She was just 3 days old.

Cooper Bear Chabre
As you probably know, our beloved Bubba Bear died a few weeks ago. Although no dog could ever replace Bubba, our hearts are beginning to heal with the addition of a new puppy to our family. Cooper Bear is a Great Dane pup, ten weeks old yesterday. This is his first night with us, and already we are falling in love like new parents do. I can't seem to take enough pictures of his cute little face and huge paws. There is no doubt that he will be huge within no time at all! As of now, I would guess that he weighs between 20 and 30 pounds, and his legs are already very long. Here's to the bliss of training a new puppy!
